Information: Two castles for the price of one. A splendid 12th Century ringwork encloses a complex 15th Century stone tower of unusual design. This was the home of the Stewarts of Darnley, later Earls of Lennox, until James IV took pot shots at the castle in 1489 using the Mons Meg cannon. There is an extensive view from the top of the 5-storey north-east tower. Interpretation signage and storytelling for children - and adults - on request
