Terms Conditions


Inspired by Mackintosh Photographic Competition

  • The competition is promoted and organised by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust (the promoter), as part of Glasgow Doors Open Day and Glasgow Mackintosh (the promoter) as part of the Creative Mackintosh Festival 2013 in conjunction with the websites www.glasgowdoorsopenday.com & www.glasgowmackintosh.com
  • The competition is open to all UK and Republic of Ireland residents, except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or any person connected with the competition.
  • By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have read and understood these terms and conditions and be bound by them.
  • Entrants can enter the competition by sending an email to [email protected] containing their name, contact details together with a low resolution digital image of one of Glasgow’s Mackintosh or Mackintosh Inspired Buildings. The name of the building must be given & a suitable caption. Only one entry may be made per person.
  • The opening date for the competition is 12 noon on Monday 23rd September 2013. The closing date for entries is 12 noon on Monday 30th September 2013. Entries submitted outwith this time will not be counted.
  • All finalists will be notified by email. The finalists name will be posted on the website www.glasgowdoorsopenday.com  and by entering the competition all finalists will be deemed to consent to this use of their information.
  • The finalists digital images will then be exhibited on the Doors Open Day website, Glasgow Mackintosh website, Doors Open Day Facebook, Glasgow Mackintosh Facebook & Doors Open Day twitter. They may also be produced within The Evening Times. They may also be displayed as part of the Creative Mackintosh Festival. Finally winning entries may be displayed in Glasgow Airport (subject to change).
  • The prizes will be provided by GBPT, Glasgow Mackintosh and other relevant sponsors.
  • The entrant warrants that all intellectual property rights in and to the entries including the copyright in the digital images submitted by the entrant is the property of the entrant. The entrant hereby grants a non-exclusive licence to the Promoter to use the entries and digital images for the purpose of running the competition which includes exhibiting the entries and digital images on the Doors Open Day website, Flickr website, in future Doors Open Day brochures and for any other promotional activity performed by the Promoter.
  • There is no cash or other alternative. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
  • The panels decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility will be accepted for entries illegible, misdirected, lost, delayed or not received including as a result of any failures in the Internet. Entries that are incomplete, defaced, obscene, damaged or defamatory will be deemed invalid.
  • The Promoters reserve the absolute right to disqualify any entrant to the competition which it considers has used improper technical means to enter.
  • If a winner of the prize cannot be traced after reasonable efforts having been made by the Promoters, then the Promoters may dispose of the prize as it thinks fit without any liability to the winner for having done so.
  • The winners when contacted will be required to comply with these competition terms and conditions, accept the prize and provide their name, telephone number and address details in order that the prize can be delivered to them.
  • Where the prizes are provided by a third party, neither the Promoter nor the relevant party will have any responsibility for the acts or defaults of any other person including without limitation such third party.
  • The winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from this competition.

Two Return Flights from Glasgow to Barcelona with Jet2.com Prize

  • The prize is for two return flights to Barcelona departing from Glasgow Airport.
  • Flights are subject to availability and may not be taken at peak periods such as Christmas, New Year and Bank/School Holidays.
  • A restricted number of free seats are available per flight, Jet2.com reserve the right to offer an alternative date/destination to the one offered if this allocation is met.
  • Flights must be booked by 31st October and taken by 30th June 2014.
  • Changes to names and travel dates are subject to the standard change fee plus any difference in fare as outlined in the airline’s general terms and conditions of carriage, which can be found on www.jet2.com.
  • Flights may be changed or cancelled by the airline for administrative reasons without prior notice.
  •  In accordance with our terms and conditions Jet2.com’s schedules are not guaranteed.
  • Any changes will be notified via email.
  • One item of checked baggage is included per person. Flights may not be exchanged for cash and may only be taken by the competition winner along with one other traveller.
  • Flights must be taken at the same time and are non-transferable.
  • Jet2.com recommends that you take out your own insurance as this is not included in this prize.
  • You must have a valid email address to claim this prize.
  • Prize automatically expires two years after issue unless otherwise specified.

The Great Dormouse Scavenger Hunt

  • The Great Dormouse Scavenger Hunt is promoted by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust (the Promoter) in conjunction with the website www.glasgowdoorsopenday.com
  • The competition is open to all UK and Republic of Ireland residents, except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or any person connected with the competition.
  • By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have read and understood these terms and conditions and be bound by them.
  • Entrants can enter the competition by sending a photo of themselves with the dormouse to [email protected] containing their full name and contact details (email & phone number) along with what they think the dormouse should be called. Alternatively entrants can enter by tweeting an image to @GlasgowDOD using #GlasgowsDormouse. Only one entry may be made per person. Entrants must be aged 16 or under.
  • The closing date for entries is midday (12 noon) on Monday 30th September 2013. Entries submitted after this time will not be counted.
  • The prize will be provided by relevant sponsors.
