What do you like seeing at Doors Open Day events?

On Thursday 11th June, we invited all of our Doors Open Day event organisers to meet up and really start planning their event for September.

St Georges Tron Church were kind enough to host the event, a fantastic venue with great sound quality and a calm and relaxed atmosphere. (if you are looking to host a city centre event definitely check these guys out really flexible space and doesnt cost you an arm and a leg! Details here)

We were also looked after by Martin Millers Gin with some refreshing Gin Cocktails! Exactly what we needed in the 22°C heat!

A great evening was had by all with talks from Glasgow Archives, Scottish Screen Archive, Open Museum, The Village Storytelling Centre, Somewhereto_, Lids Open Day, Glasgow Welcomes, Lost Glasgow and Digital Doors Open Day!

Our aim was to get all of our organisers thinking about what was interesting about each of their buildings and areas and how they could help everyone else discover this during Doors Open Day in September.

So its got us thinking, what things do you like seeing at Doors Open Day events?

Old photos, maps, films, drawings, letters, architectural plans, diary entries, performances, music, audio, digital.
