A fantastic FREE creative workshop for children and families uncovering the layers of Tramways history; from tram shed, to Transport Museum, to the first Scottish venue to host the Turner Prize in 2015! Suggested age range: 5- 12 years

In this special workshop, children and families will enjoy different fun art activities and experiment with materials inspired by the Turner Prize 2015 shortlisted artists.

The Turner Prize is Britain’s most prestigious contemporary art award and will come to Scotland for the first time from October 2015 January 2016. Established in 1984, the Turner Prize is intended to promote public discussion of new developments in contemporary British art and is widely recognised as one of the most important awards for the visual arts in Europe.

Admission to the exhibitions by the four shortlisted artists will be free and will run from October 2015 until January 2016 with the winning artist being announced at a special ceremony in December 2015.

Turner Prize 2015 is delivered in partnership between Tate, Glasgow Life, Creative Scotland, EventScotland and Glasgow City Council.

Part of the Childrens Programme: This is a fun creative workshop for children aged 5 12 years and their families.

Discover Glasgows Industrial Heritage: This workshop will explore elements of Tramways industrial past.

Please be aware that Doors Open Day events are very popular and will book out quickly.

Spaces are limited per person.

Please only book for events that you intend to go to and cancel your space as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.

If the event is fully booked please feel free to add yourself to the wait list, if a space becomes available you will be contacted and will have one day to respond. Please be aware that you must add yourself to the waitlist for every space and for the times that you want ie. if looking for three spaces at any time, add your name 3 times to each event time.

There is level access to all Tramway spaces and bar, with lift access to the upper spaces. However, a section of the tour may involve an alternative route for those with limited mobility.
