The Glasgow School of Art’s visitor centre provides a ‘Window on Mackintosh’, with models, photographs, films, animations, drawings and records detailing the famous Mackintosh building by celebrated architect and GSA’s most revered alumnus – Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This permanent exhibition showcases the Schools rich history since its opening in 1845, with original artefacts, student work and records from GSA’s Archives and Collections on display.

Take the rare opportunity to wander around the interior spaces of the Reid Building at The Glasgow School of Art as you visit the final degree show exhibition of the Schools post graduate students. With work on show throughout the Reid Building, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the stunning spaces of this new Glasgow landmark.

Investigate architect Steven Holls contemporary homage to Mackintoshs mastery of light and space. Explore the architectural concepts such as the circuit of connection designed to bring about creative collaboration, discover impressive sky to basement driven voids of light and view contemporary stained glass artwork by Turner Prize winner and GSA alumnus Martin Boyce.

Access

Restrictions on Access: Visitors can explore the Reid building and exhibits in Graduate degree show across the basement, auditorium, ground and first floors Monday Friday. Workshops, private offices and the second – top floors of the building will not be accessible to the public, lower floors only.
