The refurbished Lambhill Stables building opened in June 2011 and operates a broad spectrum of activities. They include; volunteer opportinities in the 1 acre community garden, kitchen or bicycle maintenance workshop. There are classes in; community art, photography, creatice embroidery, basic IT, healthy walking, storytelling and lunch clubs. It is a centre point for the community, providing local residents of all ages with the opportunity to take part in recreational activities. The charity also serves the communities of North Glasgow by transforming vacant and derelict land into productive and attractive green space, whilst maintaining and preserving it for public use.
The mission of the charity is to provide jobs and training oopportunities for local people who are excluded from the labour market. In addition to members of the public, Lambhill Stables is an ideal place fo schools to visit, providing a stimulating educational environment which is an interactive, enjoyable way for children to learn about both the natural and cultural heritage of the area and gain a better understanding of environmental issues.
