Canal Regeneration

NEW!

Walking Tour

The Whisky Bond 2 Dawson Road G4 9SL

From the Whisky Bond we will trace the history of the canal spur as a resource from Firhill to Port Dundas. Its place in the development of the northern suburbs, its decline and the opportunities to return activity and housing.

The walk will highlight the remaining and regenerated buildings on and near the canal starting with a short tour of the mushroom factory. The interactive talk and walk will encourage discussion of the planned new uses and activities for the canal, and the opportunities for housing and employment either returning or being established on or near the water. Come and join in.

Discover Glasgows Industrial Heritage: The theme of industrial archaeology and modern urban regeneration.
